Craig M Wood

Music direction + arrangements

Craig is a Tasmanian-born performer, composer, and musical director, specialising in new works of theatre. He trained at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music (BMUS, Music Theatre Voice). He began his career as an originating member of The IHOS Music Theatre Laboratory, performing in nearly thirty original works. During his time in Tasmania, he worked for nearly every major theatre organisation in the state, as well as travelling the country with WotOpera as a musical director, mentoring young creators through writing their own operas.

He musically directed and orchestrated ANTARCTICA's premier season starring Genevieve Lemon & Bobby Fox. As well as creating his own works for theatre and concert, he collaborated with songwriter Nic Courto, and writer Helen Prochazka to create MORE THAN NUMBERS, an album of mathematically inspired songs, one of which was shortlisted for Australia’s 2016 entry into Eurovision. In 2020, after a brief stint in Sydney, he relocated to the Mid-North Coast of NSW with his family, and now works as a Musical Director and Music Theatre tutor at TheatreOz.
